T-Mobile G1 available now
The wait, finally, is over and the offspring of the T-Mobile/HTC/Google partnership can now be yours to own from today. Marks, set, go!
HTC’s touchy feely handset is available exclusively through T-Mobile and if you want to have a play with Google’s mobile OS it currently is the only option out there.
Asus planning Android powered handset early 2009
The T-Mobile G1 could be getting a buddy soon in the form of a Google Android powered handset from Asus.
Although Asus is better known for its little laptops, motherboards and graphics cards, it’s no stranger the smartphone market by any stretch.
T-Mobile G1 now shipping in the US
While we’ve still got another eight days to wait until we can get our grubby mitts on the Google/HTC touch-a-thon, lucky punters in the US can get one right now. No fair.
The Android powered phone is now available to all comers with an address that ends in a Zip code through T-Mobile’s US site, for the princely sum of $180 - around £110.
T-Mobile shifts G1 date forward to 30 October
In an almost Christmas come early shaped move, T-Mobile has wiggled the Google Android powered G1 launch date forward to 30 October - that’s just 14 days from now.
Even better news - if you fancy grabbing yourself a bit of Googly touchscreen action, the handset can be yours for free if you shell out £40 a month.
Nokia Android handset in the works?
Nokia’s reportedly showing interest in developing it’s own Android handset after being spotted attending an Android developer conference.
As well as Nokia, Motorola has also stepped up interest in the platform to give itself a boost in the phone battle.
