The Apple iPhone 3G’s iTunes App Store may be in a class of its own at the moment, but RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Storm will be getting a dedicated software download store of its own.

Dubbed the Application Center (or App Center for short), the in-phone store will allow Storm users to browse and install third party BlackBerry applications.

RIM’s latest smartphone may be just weeks rather than months away, if dummy versions of the email maestro showing up in shops are any sign of things.

One fan, known only as BBerry, posted some shots of the Blackberry Storm mock-up on the Crackberry forums, and while it won’t let us get to grips with the new touchscreen interface, it does give us some indication of how it’ll feel to carry around all day.

Sixty. Thousand. Mobile. Phones. Left in taxis. We couldn’t believe it either when the report from Credent Technologies knocked our coffee off the table this morning. According to a survey of 300 London licensed taxi drivers, a truly shocking figure of 55,843 mobile phones, and a further 6,193 other hand held devices such as laptops, iPods and memory sticks were all left behind in London cabs.
