The Apple iPhone could be set to get a major update next week, with the introduction of iPhone OS 4.0. Rumours currently circulating the internet point towards an upcoming Apple Tablet, to be announced on the 27th, and the latest version of the Apple iPhone operating system could be released at the same time. To find out more, read on after the jump…
iPhone OS 4.0 may be bringing multi-touch support to the Apple iPhone’s entire operating system – so you’ll be able to zoom wherever you are, for instance, and not just when browsing the internet or looking at your photographs.
Other changes to the Apple iPhone could include the ability to have apps running in the background, providing multi-tasking abilities that aren’t currently possible. This will bring the Apple iPhone in line with rival devices such as the Palm Pre or Nokia N97 Mini, and makes it a much more compelling device.
According to Electric Pig, there may also be graphical and interface changes that make navigating the Apple iPhone’s operating system easier and more efficient – an area where Apple already excels.
Whether these rumours prove to be true remains to be seen, but with no outrageous claims they’re all believable. Check back here next Wednesday to find out what exactly Apple has up its sleeve.
