The Nokia N900 smartphone has gathered more interest than just about any other Nokia device in recent times. Now Firefox has finally released its Fennec, or Firefox Mobile 1.0, browser, the handset should prove even more popular to those who like to surf on the go. Mozilla has announced that Firefox Mobile 1.0, also known as Fennec, is now available as a free download. Based on the Firefox 3.6 version of the browser for desktop use, Firefox Mobile 1.0 could well be the first smartphone browser to offer the same level of functionality as the one on your laptop.

Firefox Mobile 1.0 offers up a host of features, including the Awesome bar, the full gammit of add-ons, Weave Sync as well as Location-Aware Browsing. If you already own a Nokia N900 and are currently using the beta version of the browser, you should be notified of an update in due course.
For new users, you’ll be able to download the Firefox Mobile 1.0 inĀ any one of 15 different languages and can be download over the web or from your Nokia N900.
