Samsung may be a little late bringing its own Bada mobile phone OS to the marketplace but that isn’t stopping the Korean manufacturer from bringing the latest features to the table. It looks like Bada is a solely touchscreen phone format and will offer a host of what Samsung calls ‘Multi-Point Touch’. Find out more about the Samsung Bada platform after the jump…
Samsung is getting ready to launch its Bada OS onto the world and has been talking about the platform with journalists. Bada powered phones will all be touchscreen, as Samsung sees this as the natural evolution of the format.
Talking to techradar about the upcoming Samsung Bada OS, Justin Hong, President of Engineering for the Bada platform, said, ‘Bada is an exclusively touchscreen platform, with multi-point touch, although single point touch will be used on the home screen.’
Hong was keen, apparently, to stress that Samsung in-house multi-touch software should be referred to as ‘Multi-Point Touch’. At this point it’s unclear whether this is for legal reasons – Apple may well take offence – or simply Samsung playing the differentiation game.
Either way, we can look to see more from this exciting project in the coming months as Samsung Bada-powered handsets should start to filter through within the next six months.
