The New Year is just around the corner when Intel traditionally launches its new chip line-up for the year. However, that hasn’t stopped the Asus Eee PC 1008P being leaked online packing what is believed to the the Intel Atom N450 – next gen netbook processor. Find out more about the Asus Eee PC 1008P after the jump…
The Asus Eee PC 1008P is very much a netbook in the standard roll and builds on the success of the Asus Eee PC Seashell 1005HA. It comes with a 10.1-inch screen with 1024 x 600 pixels, 160GB hard drive and 1024MB of memory. That’s all well and good but from the report that’s popped up online, this netbook may well be the first to sport the Intel Atom N450 processor.
The Intel Atom N450 on the Asus Eee PC 1008P will have a clock speed of 1.66GHz, which puts it in line with the current Atom crop. However, this 45nm chip delivers dual-core performance but with a power output of only 6.5watts. So, while we won’t see much more in the way of grunt, it’ll handle twice the apps a current netbook can handle.
The Asus Eee PC 1008P won’t be officially announced until the Intel Atom N450 launch but it’s claimed that it will be available in a range of colours, including brown and the rather shocking pink seen here.
