According to a news story that has popped up over on Digitimes, Acer has been working on a Chrome OS netbook since the middle of this year and according to the story it will see the light of day as soon as Google Chrome goes official, which is expected to be the second half of 2010.
Acer chairman, JT Wang, has apparently stated that Acer is confident that they will be the first vendor to offer a Chrome-based netbook to market next year. It’s worth bearing in mind that Acer was the first to offer up an Android netbook so it’s highly likely that this will be the case with Chrome OS.
