Is HTC about to launch yet another Google Android smartphone on to the market? It seems that the HTC ROME has been spotted in the wild dressed to impress but with a new name – the HTC Touch.B. What does all this mean for the world’s favourite Android smartphone maker? Find out more about the HTC Touch.B after the jump…
HTC has launched more Android smartphones than any other manufacturer. The latest addition looks to come under the rather unlikely name of the HTC Touch.B. Little is known about this new handset right now, other than it’s being reported that it is the emergence of the HTC ROME, albeit under a new name.
The HTC ROME was expected to be a Windows Mobile 6.5 device but that seems to have fallen by the wayside in this new incarnation. On the surface of things, the HTC Touch.B looks a lot like the HTC Touch Pro2 but while the HTC ROME was expected to ship with Windows Mobile 6.5, this latest version is most likely to run Google Android 2.0.

If everything else stays in place then the HTC Touch.B should come with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz SnapDragon processor, 512MB of Flash and 320MB of RAM. It should also packs 7.2Mbps 3G and a 5-Megapixel camer.
Now, it may be too early to firm up details right now as HTC hasn’t announced the HTC Touch.B but this device could well start to ship some time in the New Year.
