The major update for the TomTom iPhone app brings it in line with many of its dedicated sat-nav devices, such as the TomTom GO LIVE 940, bringing with it lane guidance, which is a common feature and works in both Portrait and landscape mode on the iPhone.
What’s more, TomTom iPhone app will also sport text-to-speech for reading out street names and other locations, a current map and speed camera database for keeping ahead of potential speed traps, and iPod controls to get round the iPhone’s lack of multitasking.
It seems that TomTom is still waiting for the Apple App Store to approval the update before it will be made available through the store. Once the TomTom iPhone app has gained approval, owners will be able to download it straight away.
