The HTC HD2 is set to launch today and looks like being one of the hotly contested devices of the season, especially for a Windows Mobile device. The HTC HD2 is a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone with an amazing 4.3-inch touchscreen. The HTC HD2 also has a 5-Megapixel camera with dual LED flash and auto-focus. It manages to include a 1GHz Snapdragon-based processor, and this means it has more than enough power. There’s also Wi-Fi, 3G HSUPA and GPS.

A story has popped up on electricpig claiming that a tipster has informed them that Vodafone is set to beat T-Mobile to the pinch on the HTC HD2. So far, we’ve not seen any evidence of this as the ‘Coming Soon‘ page makes no reference to the handset at all.

However, we know that Vodafone already has the HTC Tattoo and the Android running HTC Hero, so it could be a safe bet that the HTC HD2 will also be shipping on Vodafone?
