Get to Grips With the Nokia E72

The Nokia E72 looks like being finally launched this month and this QWERTY messenger, that is an updated and streamlined version of the Nokia E71, is set to be a huge hit. With that in mind, we felt it time to get to grips with the Nokia E72 and see what it has to offer users thinking of upgrading.

The Nokia E72 is part of the Nokia E Series, so is intended for the business user about town, looking to get the best from email, messaging and other key features of the Nokia E72, but what are they? For starters, the design of the Nokia E72 is very much in keeping with the previous Nokia E71. However, Nokia has shaved a little off the weight, and given the QWERTY keyboard something of a minor overhaul.

Email Master
Email is the heart and soul of modern commerce and the Nokia E72 was created to be the best messenger there is. With this in mind, the Nokia E72 gives you access to Nokia Ovi Mail, Lotus Notes Traveller, Mail for Exchange, and Gmail. What’s more, the Nokia E72 has full support for other IMAP4, POP3, and SMTP email platforms, making it the perfect device for any professional user.

Online Action!
When not emailing colleagues and friends you’ll be able to make the most of the 2.4-inch screen to go online and surf the internet. Fortunately, the Nokia E72 will let you browse data rich websites with ease through its incorporation of Flash Lite 3.0, Flash Video, Web Runtime 1.1,HTML over TCP/IP, OSS Browser, WAP 2.0, and XHTML over TCP/IP.

Mobile Office
After email and the internet, the next thing you’re going to need are a host of office tools and fortunately, the Nokia E72 comes packed with enough to make you feel the Mobile Office is a reality. So, you’ll find Mobile Office tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and PDF reader are all present and correct, so you’ll be able to read, analyse, and create your own Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or PDF documents, no matter where you are.

Storage Capacity

The Nokia E72 comes with 250MB of internal memory, which is enough to keep you happy for the day-to-day. However, you’ll also find a microSD slot on-board and even a 4GB memory card included in the box. This microSD slot supports up to 16GB of storage. Additionally, the Nokia E72 features both USB 2.0 High-Speed, USB Mass Storage and Bluetooth, so you’ll be able to move files around with ease between your device and PC.

Camera Action!
OK, when it comes to business, having a camera onboard may not be essential but it wuld be churlish not to update it and Nokia has, packing in a 5-Megapixel camera with equally impressive 5x zoom, Auto Exposure, Auto Focus, Flash, Full Screen Viewfinder and Red-Eye Reduction. What’s more, the Nokia E72 will shoot videos at 15 fps with up to 5 x digital zoom.
