The Asus Eee PC 1201N looks like being accompanied by the the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP netbook, which has just gone on sale in Japan. The difference between the two models? Well, the Asus Eee PC 1201N comes with a 12-inch screen while the slightly smaller Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP ships with a 11.6-inch screen. Find out what else the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP has to offer after the jump…
Set to start shipping in Japan on the 14th November, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP this 11.6-inch netbook comes with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. What’s more, you’ll also find that it ships with 2048MB of memory and 250GB hard drive, taking advantage of the newly relaxed rulings on netbook spec from both Intel and Microsoft.
The Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP is also said to be shipping with the Intel Atom XZ520 (1.33GHz) processor, which is disappointing as we’re expecting a slew of new dual-core processors to be announced in December with previews being shown at CES in January.
What’s more, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP takes now the standard Asus ‘Seashell’ design, as seen on the Asus Eee PC Seashell 1005HA, so don’t expect anything new in terms of design or port orientation. You’ll find Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in, along with VGA-out, Ethernet and three USB ports.
The Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP is set to cost 54,800 yen (£xxx) but with no official pricing or release date announced for the UK, it’ll be interesting to se if this netbook ships before the Christmas buying season begins.
