Can’t live without microblogging phenomenon Twitter? Want to be constantly in touch, then you need Twitter Peek, which it’s claimed is the first dedicated Twitter-only handset on the market. With full QWERTY keyboard and low entry-level price, this could be the solution to all the expensive smartphones out there. Find out more about Twitter Peek the first Twitter phone after the jump…
The Twitter Peek is a dedicated Twitter device that has been developed by US startup company Peek, to develop the device that offers the full Twitter experience from reading tweets, sending tweets, replying, retweeting and direct messaging.
Twitter Peek uses the mobile phone data network to send and receive tweets. It comes with a full colour screen and the good-sized keyboard makes writing your 140 character missives easier. With a price starting at juts $99, which also includes six months of free service.
After this six month period you’ll need to sign-up for a $7.95 a month data fee. It’ll be interesting to see how the device develops as latest reports suggest that 40 per cent of users stop using the service within 30 days of starting to Twitter.
The Twitter Peek is only available in the US at the moment and it’s unclear whether the company plans to expand into the UK market, no doubt we’ll need to keep an eye on their Twitter page.
So, what do you think, will the Twitter Peek replace entry-level devices like the Samsung S3650 Genio or LG Viewty Lite, which are around the same price but offer so much more? Let us know what you think in the Comments below.
