It looks like Motorola may well be switching the name of its first Android smartphone, which was announced last week, from Motorola DROID to the less-Trekkie and the more legendary Motorola Milestone. Will there be any other changes apart from the name? Join us after the jump and find out about the Motorola Milestone…
The Motorola DROID is expected to be announced on the 6th November but it looks like O2 Germany has already outed the device. According to a story that has popped up on BGR, the Motorola DROID will be appearing in Germany as the Motorola Milestone and will cost 402 Euros (£362) when it launches before Christmas. This is the first indication of the handset getting a European release with it the name change.

The Motorola DROID smartphone comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen, 16GB of internal memory and even has a 5-Megapixel camera. You’ll also HSPA connectivity, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
What’s more, the holding page for the Motorola Milestone has also popped up on O2 Germany, so it will definitely be getting the name change. The question is, will this change apply here in the UK and will we be seeing a similar pricing structure? As soon as we have more information we’ll let you know.
