LG has launched a range of laptops that it is calling the Widebook range. Why? Well, it’s because all five models in the range sport a true 16:9 aspect widescreen panel, that’s why. LG Widebook laptops have been launched and bring while the idea of a widescreen panel is nothing new, virtually all laptops are widescreen these days, the five models in the range - the R580/R560, R480/R460 and R380 – have a true 16:9 aspect ratio, the same as the HD TV in your living room.
The range will be available in a number of screen sizes, with the LG Widebook R580 and LG Widebook R560 boasting a 15.6-inch display while the LG Widebook R480 and LG Widebook R460 laptops have a 14-inch screen.
The smallest model in the range is the LG Widebook R380 and that has a 13.3-inch screen. The 16:9 widescreen display is optimized for HD content and ships in 1600 x 900 and 1368 x 768 HD pixel resolutions, depending on the model.
Pricing and availability have yet to be set for the LG Widebook laptop range range and all we know about the tech specs so far is that we can expect Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Windows 7 OS and a choice of integrated or Nvidia dedicated graphics.
