The Toshiba TG01 smartphone, the company’s first device to sport the 1GHz Snapdragon processor looks like being set for launch in the next week or so. The Toshiba TG01 smartphone launched in Germany earlier this week and it looks likely to follow suit here in the UK over the next few days. Check out our guide to the release of the Toshiba TG01 smartphone….
The Toshiba TG01 smartphone will officially be launched on the 9th July and rather than being simply SIM free, as first suspected, it looks as though it will ship in this country under exclusive contract. However, the identity of that carrier is at this point unnamed by Toshiba.
Launched earlier this week in Germany under exclusive contract to O2, it seems most likely that O2 will be named the carrier for the UK.
The Toshiba TG01 smartphone is a Windows Mobile device and was first announced back in January. The use of Windows Mobile 6.1 shows how long it has taken for this device to come to market. It features a 4.1-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480-pixel (WVGA) resolution, 5-Megapixel camera and comes with the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which should make it the fastest smartphone on the market today.
Connectivity manages to tick all the right boxes too, with 3G, HSPDA support, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-FI for more localised connections.
With such a long gestation period and the number of devices already announced this summer, theĀ Toshiba TG01 smartphone is in fear of being over looked, so whoever is named as the carrier will have to put some pretty tempting deals in place to make sure the TG01 makes the right splash!
