Samsung has updated its laptop line with the launch of the Samsung R620. This 16-inch widescreen laptop comes with a Full HD screen of 1920 x 1800 pixels, making it great for watching movies in true 16:9. What’s more, it also comes with a Blu-ray drive, making this one of the best multimedia machines around. Check out the pricing and tech spec of the Samsung R620 after the jump…
Samsung may be best known for its netbooks, such as the Samsung NC10 or Samsung N110, but it also does a good line in standard laptops. The Samsung R620 replaces the previous R610 and brings with it a sombre black chassis that does away with the red stripe along the front – which was there as a design reference to match the Full HD TV’s that sported the red line.
However, the R620 is a Full HD media mogul in tits own right with a sharp 16-inch screen that sports 1920 x 1800 pixel resolution. If you want to port them to movies to an even bigger screen, you’ll appreciate the inclusion of a HDMI port.
Pricing for the Samsung R620 starts at £699 (inc. VAT) and will ship later in July. There will be a range of specs on offer, but at this price you’ll find 4096MB of memory and the Blu-ray drive fitted as standard. This is an Intel Core 2 Duo based machine and you’ll find the hard drive offers up to 500GB of storage.
Other key features include ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphics, 1.3-Megapixel camera and Samsung’s now standard anti-bacterial coating to the keyboard.
