The Motorola Aura Celestial Edition has been announced and takes the standard Motorola Aura and adds a hint of Luna exploration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. So, is this a phone for Neil Armstrong or will it end up like Alan Bean being a mere running up in the great space race? Find out about the Motorola Aura Celestial Edition after the jump…
The Motorola Aura Celestial Edition takes a standard Motorola Aura and with the addition of a few Luna extras, becomes something to celebrate the fact that this year is the 40th Anniversary of that first Luna landing.
What’s so interesting about the Motorola Aura Celestial Edition is that it comes with bits and pieces from the original landing, including video footage, still and all the famous audio snippets, including “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”, and “The Eagle has landed”.
If you’re wondering why Motorola is so enamoured by the anniversary, well it seems that Motorola provided the radio transponder that was on the Apollo 11 missed and actually relayed those famous words back to an excited planet below.
Available from July, the Motorola Aura Celestial Edition is very much a limited edition phone and only available for a short time. Unsurprisingly the first handset is going to Neil Armstrong.
