T-Mobile over in the States has officially announced that it will offer its second Google Android phone in July, with the device shipping in August. The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is the second Android smartphone from the company and has been designed by HTC, the firm behind the T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone. Check out the full details after the jump…
Friday we brought you news that T-Mobile had named its second Android smartphone, the T-Mobile G1 Touch. However, in the US they seem to have gone with the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.
The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is officially the second Android smartphone from the company and will ship in the States as soon as August. No word yet whether it will be offered here in the UK at the same time but we can expect it to launch shortly. The myTouch 3G is based on the HTC Magic, which has already been launched on the Vodafone network here in the UK, which is why we’re curious as to whether it will actually ship here in the UK.
The T-Mobile myTouch 3G comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a native resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. While it sports the same trackball as the T-Mobile G1, you won’t find a QWERTY keyboard on this device.
TheĀ T-Mobile myTouch 3G features a full HTML web browser, Google’s voice powered search, as well as offering a host of Google apps, including Maps and Gmail account. Instant messaging comes in the form of Gtalk, AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo! messaging, and there is even a voice dialling app and speakerphone.
So, will the T-Mobile myTouch 3G make it to these shores or is last week’s story of a T-Mobile Touch G1 still worth contemplating as a wholly different device?
