Nokia has announced the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, which it is pitching as its third touchscreen phone, to accompany the Nokia 5800 as a music and multimedia phone. Very much seen as an entry-level model compared to the Nokia 5800, this is a music phone that makes the most of a new Homescreen and even a funky new Contacts Bar. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has been announced and will be the third touchscreen smartphone from Nokia, following on from the Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic wil have the smallest screen, though, as it measures in at just 2.9 inches.
In line with the Nokia 5800 you’ll find a Media Bar will give instant access to your multimedia files, while a brand new Contacts Bar design allows you to have 20 of your friends instantly accessible at the touch of a button. Then there is the new Homescreen, which allows you to integrate a host of widgets and other cool features, such as access to your favourite social network sites, at the punch of a button.
Keys features also include a 3.2-Megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth and 802.11g Wi-Fi . The built-in stereo speakers come with surround sound, so we’re expecting something on a par, in music terms, with the Nokia 5800. There is no word yet of built-in storage but it ships with 4GB microSD card and supports up to 16GB, so you’ll be able to add plenty of music from the Nokia Music store.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic ships in the third quarter of 2009 and has a suggested retail price of 199 Euros.
