Is Dell about to get involved in the Android smartphone market? If so, then this image which claims to be the first snapshot of the Dell Google Android smartphone in action would suggest it’s a reality. Check out what is known about the leaked Dell Android smartphone after the jump…
The Dell Android smartphone has been leaked, at least if this fuzzy image first found on a Chinese website but brought to our attention by Engadget is to believed. Dell is renowned for getting into a market once it’s been proven as financially viable and while there has been plenty of speculation about the Android market, it’s still too early to say whether it’s mature enough for Dell to get full involved
In many respects, this looks like a Palm Pre with a Dell logo slapped on for good measure but it could well be the first sighting of the Dell Google Android smartphone. However, we think it also has the look was a rather squashed Nokia 5800.
At this stage, little else is known, other than it’s likely to be running Google Android 1.5 of the operating system. We can hazard a guess that it will have a slide-out keypad of some form and the camera is likely to be 3.2-Megapixel and it’ll also come with GPS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connection.
The rumour mill has Dell set to launch its Android smartphone, if it’s going to at all, later this year, possibly in Q4 in the run-up to Thanksgiving in the US first.
