Apple has confirmed there will be four new iPhones shipping in the next few weeks, all under the name of the Apple iPhone 3Gs. What’s more, the ’s’ in the name stands for ‘Speed’ as Apple is claiming this latest device will be 2.1x faster than the original Apple iPhone 3G. Apple has announced the Apple iPhone 3Gs as part of the WWDC, claiming it to be ‘the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet.’ What this means in the real world is that Apple has tweaked the OS so that apps can load 2.1x faster than previously. What’s more, Apple is claiming that opening an attachment will be 4x faster than on the old Apple iPhone 3G.
That’s not the end of the story. As we surmised previously, there will be four new Apple iPhone 3Gs models – two Black and two White. The differences being, aside from the colour, 16GB and 32GB storage models.
However, that’s not all. The iPhone 3Gs has a download speed-bump up to 7.2Mbps HSDPA for super-quick downloads. There’s also a 3.2-Megapixel camera with autofocus packed inside. There is also the addition of an “auto macro” mode too, activated when subjects are around 10cm away, which is great for getting close and personal.
When it comes to battery life, using Wi-Fi with an iPhone 3Gs you’ll get 9 hours of internet use, 10 hours of video, 30 hours of audio, 12 hours of 2G talktime or 5 hours of 3G talktime.
The Apple iPhone 3Gs will go on sale 19th June and will cost $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB).
