The Samsung N110 builds on the tradition laid down by the Samsung NC10, which to this day remains one of our favourite netbooks. However, this second generation netbook offers many of the same benefits but adds a host of refinements. Sure, it’s not the cheapest netbook around but check out our Samsung N110 review and see if it’s the right netbook for you…
The Samsung N110 isn’t exactly going to win awards for originality. The design follows very much in the same styling as the Samsung NC10 and joins a host of recent netbooks, such as the Acer AOD150 and Dell Mini 10, as a second generation netbook.

However, Samsung has tweaked the basic design, so you’ll now find a slightly larger keyboard, which is surprising as we really liked the size of the NC10. There is also a larger touchpad, which is a welcome addition as this makes navigating the 10.1-inch screen easier.
The screen is a standard LED panel with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is very much in the same vein as the Samsung NC10. It’s bright, clear and images look sharp. The keyboard beneath it feels solid to the touch and we found it comfortable to use for long periods.
When it comes to specification, you’ll find the standard netbook offering in place, which includes Windows XP, Intel Atom N270 processor, 1024MB of memory and 160GB hard drive. What makes this netbook stand out is that you’ll still find everything you need, including Wi-Fi, three USB ports and Ethernet.
Samsung has still managed to pack in a 6-cell battery, which means you’ll be able to get five hours of battery life with ease, longer if you make the most of the built-in battery tools.
Verdict
The Samsung N110 netbook doesn’t exactly break the mold in terms of netbook design but is a solid step forward from the Samsung NC10. The battery life is great, the keyboard and screen highly usable and the overall build quality of this machine is such that you’ll be impressed with what it has to offer for the price.
