Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell netbook spec and price

The Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell is claimed by the company to offer a battery life of over 10 hours from a netbook that weighs a little over 1kg. Asus first announced this new super-thin netbook but has now confirmed that it will be shipping in July.

The Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell could well be the netbook that puts Asus back on the top of the mini-laptop throne. Acer netbooks seem to have been having things all their own way of late and with Dell announcing some pretty amazing netbooks too, such as the Dell Mini 10, the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell could well be the answer.

The Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell has a super-cool design with a thin, tapered front edge that helps keep the weight and size as small as possible. There is still room for a 10.1-inch Led screen and in terms of tech spec, it’s pretty much what we’ve come to expect with Windows XP as the initial release.

Fitted with a 3-cell battery, it’ll weigh 1.1kg, while the larger 6-cell, which offers the best battery like, takes the weight up to 1.3kg. The netbook will ship in a choice of four colours, White, Black, Pink or Blue.

So, we’ll find an Intel Atom processor, 1024MB of memory and 160GB HDD fitted as standard. For this spec you can expect to pay £349 (inc. VAT), when the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell ships in July. If that’s a little rich for your blood, Asus still offer the Eee PC 900 for less than £200.
