Asus is set to launch its next luxury netbook in the next few weeks and it seems that pricing for the Asus Eee PC 1008HA could well be less than initially expected. Asus is best known for it’s entry-level netbooks, but this new range hopes to add a hint of style and glamour to the range.
The Asus Eee PC 1008HA is expected to ship with the next six weeks and with a starting price of £380 (inc. VAT), this new luxury Eee PC is considerably cheaper than the Asus Eee PC S101 it is set to replace.
The Asus Eee PC 1008HA is a standard 10.1-inch netbook with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels but we can expect it to be the slimmest and lightest model in its class. It ships with the standard array of features we’ve come to expect from a netbook but will weigh close to 1kg.
The Asus Eee PC 1008HA will ship with the now obligatory Intel Atom N280 processor, 124MB of memory, 160GB hard drive and come with Windows XP pre-installed. There is no news as to whether Asus will support this model with its own Linux version, but as the S101 only shipped with Windows, it seems unlikely.
