T-Mobile has announced sales of its T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone are set to top 100,000 units sold juts six months after launch. In celebration of this achievement, it has announced that it will release an update to the software in May. This will take the G1 up to Android Version 1.5.
Android Version 1.5 is the long awaited system update, also known as Cupcake, that brings with it a host of new features, including a new touchscreen keyboard and the ability to record and playback video.
T-Mobile has also confirmed that it intends to launch its second Android phone this summer, describing it as a “groundbreaking” device but declining to reveal any details. T-Mobile made no secret that it was interested in working with Huawei, making a shout about it at this year’s Mobile World Congress. We’ll bring you know more details as we receive them.
