The LG Viewty II has now be confirmed as shipping in June. Along with the official confirmation comes the news that the LG Viewty II will become the LG Viewty Smart. What’s more, official images of the device have also been released. We’ve full details on how the LG Viewty II became the LG Viewty Smart after the jump…
The LG Viewty Smart isn’t being billed as a smartphone, even though the new name may well imply that. Instead, the LG Viewty Smart is a camera phone, packing in an amazing 8-Megapixel CCD into its slim-line body shell. Weighing just 90g and measuring just 12.4mm at its thinnest point, this is one of the most compelling LG camera phones to date.
It’s not just the camera that will help sell this phone, as the Viewty Smart comes with a 3-inch touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi and even HSDPA connectivity for ultra-fast internet-browsing.
Then there is the built-in GPS chipset that handles geo-tagging, so you can tag images taken with location bearings as well as time and date.
Handling all this is LG’s new S-Class interface, which we first saw make its entry on the LG Arena, with great results. So, you’ll be able to customise the Home screen and get one-click access to your email, internet browser, as well as the camera and GPS mapping.
Set to ship in June, the LG Viewty Smart will be available on a number of price plans.
