T-Mobile is set to launch its second Android smartphone later this year, using Chinese manufacturer Huawei. This follows on the tail of the news that Vodafone is set to be the second Android in the market with the Vodafone HTC Magic.
T-Mobile is the only company to have an Android smartphone, the T-Mobile G1, in the shops. However, we expect to see a flurry of activity this year as most vendors will ship at least one handset sporting the OS.
T-Mobile made no secret that it was interested in working with Huawei, making a shout about it at this year’s Mobile World Congress.
a spokesperson for Huawei has said: “”I can confirm that Huawei will be releasing the third Google phone on T-Mobile this year.” They’ve even released a few specifications for the handset, as it will have a 5-megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi and a built-in headphone jack.
With a number of Android handsets coming on to the market later this year from LG and Samsung in particular, it seems the Google OS is in demand this year.
