The Palm Pre is getting ready to hit the UK and it looks like O2 will have this year’s ‘must have’ smartphone all to itself The Palm Pre has certainly caught the imagination of most smartphone buyers and is tipped as being the best phone of the year. If this is the case, it’ll be a true return to form for Palm, who has struggled in recent years to find a suitable smartphone solution.

The Palm Pre could be heading to the UK with an O2 badge on it, if the report in spanish newspaper Expansion, are to be believed. The report states that spanish Telco Telefonica, who owns O2, has already snapped up the hotly desired smartphone under exclsuive contract.
If this is this indeed the case, then we could well see the Palm Pre and its WebOS operating system in-store before the start of the summer.
The Palm Pre will launch in the first half of this year under exlcusive contract to Sprint, and while there are no defintie dates for a UK release, it is expected to follow shortly after the US launch.
