The Nokia 6710 Navigator and Nokia 6720 classic have been announced at Mobile World Congress. Unlike previous ‘classic’ phones announced, the Nokia 6720 classic is a Series 60 device that makes the most of its cutting-edge design and features.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 6710 Navigator, as its name suggests, is all about meeting the needs of those who put maps and location finding high on their list of demands.
The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a cracking little phone that weighs just 117g and measures 104.8 x 50.1 x 14.9mm. With a slide-away keypad, this is one neat design that will stow away in your pocket with ease.
However, the big sell with this phone is the range of navigation features built into the phone. From the built-in A-GPS and access to Maps on Ovi, Nokia’s dedicated mapping service, to the dedicated key for access to navigation tools, this phone is great for those who need to get around on foot or by car.
You’ll be able to see exactly where you’re going thanks to the 2.6-inch screen that has been specially designed for viewing outdoors. Nokia will be supporting the Nokia 6710 Navigator with a host of in-car navigation accessories and stands.
If you simply want an amazing user experience from a smartphone that looks like a phone instead of a computer, then meet the Nokia 6720 classic.
The Nokia 6720 classic is a full Series 60 phone but manages to pack plenty into its slender 110 x 45 x 14 mm, 110g body. The design has a neat curve to it, so it’ll sit in your hand with ease and even fits more ergonomically to the face. What’s more, this candybar phone also has built-in support for N-Gage, so game on!
The 2.2-inch screen (240 x 320 pixels) is a good size for dealing with emails and web browsing and with full HSDPA/HSUPA support, data connections are quick and reliable. There is a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and full video support.
Both the Nokia 6710 Navigator and Nokia 6720 will be released later this year. Pricing has yet to be announced.
