Sony Ericsson has released details of its W395 Walkman phone that will be launched within the next few weeks. The tiny handset is very much an entry-level handset with a heavy emphasis on music and getting the most from downloads. The Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman weighs 97g, and comes has a 2-inch screen (176 x 220 pixels) that offers 262,144 colours. It supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and will be available in either Dusky Grey or Blush Titanium. The Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman is being pitched at the ‘youth’ market; this is an affordable portable that comes with dedicated music keys an FM radio. The phone comes with a rather poor 10MB of storage for contact and SIM details but you can add more memory using the Memory Stick Micro slot. Sony Ericsson even throws a 1GB card in the box, so you won’t be without tunes for too long. A standard app is Sony Ericsson’s TrackID, which helps you identify random songs you may hear when out and about, while PlayNow offers a host of content you can download straight to your phone. Adding to the multimedia aspect of the phone, is a rather entry-level 2-megapixel camera and there is also Bluetooth for sharing pics with your ‘bezzies’. The Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman phone will be available in the first half of the year but full pricing has yet to be made public.
