The BlackBerry Storm is a great smartphone that lets you handle all aspects of your life straight from the box. However, no device is an island and with BlackBerry’s App Store being touted for a quick launch, we felt it time to look at the best applications you can add to improve your handheld’s functionality.
The BlackBerry Storm is fantastic for email and for use as a PIMs device. Check out our BlackBerry Storm review to see for yourself. To make it even better, here is what we think are the latest key apps to download and install:
TwitterBerry
Twitter mania seems to be gripping the nation right now and you can get involved using TwitterBerry, the latest version on the BlackBerry Storm. While it wasn’t written with the Storm’s touchscreen in mind it’ll make full use of the Landscape or Portriat mode of your handset. It’s a great way to pass the day and will even get you on the radar of such lovies as Stephen Fry and Jonathon Ross.

Viigo
No matter where we wander we need information, gossip and rumour and Viigo is a neat information centre, popping handy sized confections on news weather and even celebrity gossip onto our handsets. It works by pulling in RSS feeds, and while it ships with the most obvious feeds you can add your own to make it specific to you. S, flight times, sports results and local information is all there, at the click of the screen.

TalkLock
One quirk of the BlackBerry Storm is the touchscreen staying on when you’re in mid-conversation. Yes, we know the Apple iPhone has something similar but TalkLock is so simple that it’s a crime it wasn’t thought of sooner as it solves the aforementioned problem It works as soon as your call is connected, disabling the touchscreen for the duration of the call. Unlocking the screen simply requires a swipe of the finger.
