Bought a T-Mobile Google G1 Android smartphone? Well start expecting a little package to be delivered to your handset,a s we’ve just got word that the T-Mobile Google G1 Android gets update to firmware version RC33. This Over-The-Air (OVA) update to the G1 Android phone is set to fix a bunch of bugs and minor flaws.
If you’re still is some confusion as to what the Android phone is all about, check out our Guide to everything Google Android here.
T-Mobile has started to rollout the update in limited numbers but is expected to pick-up user updates over the next 48 hours. The official word is that users in the UK will get RC33 made available to them using the G1’s OTA facility between 5th - 15th February.
Among the bug fixes, the update should enable the Google Voice Search as seen on the iPhone, and also fix bugs relating to image saving and system update checks.
Sadly, the update doesn’t include the Cupcake extensions, which were expected to have been rolled out last month. Cupcake allows for an onscreen keyboard, interface enhancements and smoother run time on the T-Mobile Google G1 Android smartphone. It seems we’ll have to wait another month or two for that one to start showing up on the radar.

There may be some Cupcake elements in this release, I believe the ability to save pictures from text messages is included and a Cupcake feature.

Also since the release numbers are different in the UK, what would this release be numbered?
