The WOOO Ketai H001 is an Hitachi 3D phone with a screen specially created by the company. We kid you not, this is a 3D phone designed for high-tech video calls and is available to buy – in Japan that is.
A company called KDDI as part of their AU range of phones has designed it. The company is big news in Japan but may mean little to us in the west.
The 3.1-inch screen has a resolution of 845 x 480 pixels so don’t expect anything approaching high-def, or even the ‘Help me Obi Wan’ scene from Star Wars. But it’s a LCD display that comes with integrated IPS Technology, which makes the images really come to life.
The phone weighs 145g and has a hinged lid device and a big aerial that we can’t work out is actually for. Then again, there is a built-in TV tuner, so you can watch the soaps on the train home.
Full specs include 220 minutes of talk time, 260 hours in stndby mode, 500MB of internal memory with full microSD support, Bluetooth and even the afore-mentioned built-in TV tuner.
If you’re thinking you can nip out and buy one for the weekend, we’re sorry to disappoint but it makes you wonder what other great devices will be coming out this year?
