The Android operating system is currently featured on only one handset, the T-Mobile G1, but makers Google have decided to bolster its appeal by introducing paid applications later this month.
Mid-January should see a host of premium applications appear on Android Market, the OS’s online app store. At present only free apps are available.
The new roll-out will start with the UK (yay) and US, with Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands following in the near future. Sadly we don’t know exactly which apps are coming, or how much they’re going to cost – but with mid-January looming, it won’t be long before we hear more.
T-Mobile G1 users, what would you like to see hit Android’s app store? A proper satnav application, perhaps, or some premium quality games? Let us know in the comments section below.
Availability: Mid-January
Price: £TBC
Killer feature: The first batch of full-on premium software apps will be hitting Android in a matter of days.
