Printer perfect pics with LG Viewty

The LG KU990 Viewty has a top quality camera and great photo skills, but how can you make your snaps real masterpieces?

With these simple steps, that’s how.

Master in 1 minute

Step 1: Come on now, focus!
The Viewty is a very special phone. Not because it’s got a 5-megapixel sensor. Not because of it’s large touch screen, but because it’s the first phone to offer manual focus. It means you can add emphasis to your images by throwing the background into a blur, while still keeping your subject sharp. To make the best use of it, get as close to your subject as possible, and position the background as far away from them as possible. Next manually focus on them using the KU990’s control wheel, which is positioned around the lens. Click the shutter and admire the effect. It’ll look even better when you print it out in a large format, we promise.

Step 2: Edit to perfection
The Viewty’s built-in photo editor is one of the best around. That’s not because it’s feature packed, but because of the touch screen and stylus you use to control it. It’s simple to re-touch images, add doodles or handwritten notes. Experiment with the stylus, and don’t be afraid to scribble on your pictures before sending them to the printer!

Step 3: Nice-o ISO
LG has packed a really sensitive sensor into the KU990. With a maximum ISO of 800 it’ll be more sensitive to light and perform well in low light. Be sure to make use of it where conditions are dim. The phone will also lengthen shutter speed to compensate for low light, as well as turning on its image stabilisation features to get the best possible picture.

Step 4: Wireless pictures
Support for Bluetooth printers is also packed into the LG KU990 Viewty. It means you can beam your photos straight to the printer and see them on paper in seconds. If you don’t have a Bluetooth printer you can use the phone’s USB connection to print directly, although if your printer’s a little on the dodgy side we’d advise a trip to a proper photo shop where you can offload them from a memory card. The Viewty’s photos are such high quality, you’ll want to print them properly to make the most of them.

Make it better with macro mode!
One of the Viewty’s vastly under-used functions is its macro mode. Combined with its manual focus and detailed 5-meg sensor selecting it can deliver cracking close-ups that look great in print.
