EXCLUSIVE! It’s safe to say LG is a team player, having already shown a taste for fashionable collaborations with devices such as the new Prada II. But now it looks like it’s working on a mobile with one of the biggest brand of all: Formula 1.
At a press conference this morning to announce the Korean company’s sponsorship deal with F1, LG’s chief marketing officer, Dermot Boden, told journalists that it was “looking to develop products in the future with Formula 1.”
We pressed him afterwards as to whether this meant a phone tie-in, and while Boden was tight lipped, he remained optimistic. “I can’t say definitively that we will, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we did something like that – why would we not want to have product like that coming out of this relationship?”, he said.
No word yet as to what features it’ll pack under the bonnet, but expect it to leave the Porsche phone in the starting grid.
