How to perform N95 party tricks

Nokia N95

Your N95’s so powerful it’s a shame not to show it off whenever you get the chance.

Install these eye-popping applications and make your phone the centre of attention when the moment presents itself.

Master in 4 minutes

Step 1: Movement master
Did you know your N95 has a movement sensor inside? Nokia doesn’t publicise it, but it’s in there alright – and there are some great applications available to show it off. Download and install the Moving Ball application here, and you’ll be able to wow your mates with your Nokia’s movement mastery. Want something a little more useful? Try Accelinvaders – it’s a special version of Space Invaders for your phone that uses the movement sensor to control the action on-screen.

Step 2: Go radio ga-ga
So your mate’s got a phone that’ll tune into FM radio? Put them to shame with a dose of internet radio from your N95. There’re thousands of stations to choose from, so there’ll be something to please everyone – you could even replace the DJ at your new years party. Maybe.

Step 3: 3D throw-down
Still in need of something special to prove your phone’s the best? How about some top-drawer 3D graphics? Install Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood and you’ll see why Nokia are pulling ahead in the battle for the best gaming phones. It’s full 3D, with proper polygon effects and a range of movement options. Your mates simply won’t be able to compete.

Step 4: Mapping maven
Don’t forget your N95’s best party piece is its built in GPS. Don’t worry if it won’t work inside though, install Google Maps on your handset, tap the ‘0’ key and it’ll use information from transmitters to guess your position on the map. Then, when you get outside, it’ll lock on using more accurate GPS. Can any of your mates’ phones map indoors and out? No, we didn’t think so…
