The T-Mobile G1 could be getting a buddy soon in the form of a Google Android powered handset from Asus.
Although Asus is better known for its little laptops, motherboards and graphics cards, it’s no stranger the smartphone market by any stretch.
The handset could be available as early as next year and although no firm plans have been announced, it would make sense for Asus to go for a similar format to its touch sensitive Windows Mobile powered P320 (pictured). It’s apparently planning to test the water in its home country of Taiwan first, before deciding on whether to roll it out to a wider audience or not.
