Another week, another 8-megapixel camera phone is announced! Following in the footsteps of its 8-meg Renoir KC910 comes LG’s KC780, a slider packing mucho megapixels as well as face and smile detection.
The latter only triggers the camera’s shutter when your subject breaks out a grin (yes, it’s clever stuff indeed), and you can further improve portraits using LG’s “Beauty Mode”, which removes spots and other imperfections from faces. Auto focus is also on board, along with a high ISO 1600 light sensitivity for shooting at night or indoors.
Aside from its prodigious photo skills the KC780 looks like a pretty solid mid-range mobile – there’s no GPS, 3G or Wi-Fi, but there is a built-in accelerometer, DivX video playback and “Smart Bluetooth”, which allows you to wirelessly connect it to your computer and use it as a webcam.
