It’s Microsoft’s turn to go on a rumour filled flight of phone fancy after its CEO, Steve Ballmer said the software could be finding its way to Windows Mobile devices. Zune phone incoming?
If true, a Zune phone would be the most direct competition the iPhone would face.
Ballmer has in the past denied the Big M were planning a music toting Zune mobile but his latest comments, revealed to CIO mag suggest otherwise according to phonearena.com.
“The Zune software will also be ported to and be more important not just with the hardware but on the PC, on Windows Mobile devices, etc,” Ballmer told CIO.
It would be the perfect chance for the Zune brand to grab some of the market share enjoyed by the iPhone, which also doubles up as an iPod.
