It’s official! The HTC made T-Mobile G1 has launched and is set to bring Google Android goodness to UK phone fanciers this November.
Google’s first Android mobile will be hitting the US on October 22 before landing in UK telephony territory this November, just in time for the Christmas rush. And you’ll be able to grab it for free.
According to T-Mobile it’ll be free on tariffs from £40 per month making it cheaper than the iPhone, for which you’ll have to fork out £45 a month for a free phone.
As mentioned earlier it’s got all the features to rain on the iPhone parade such as 3G, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, QWERTY keypad and the potential for unlimited applications thanks to the Android open source platform giving developers free reign to create a bevy of free apps.
T-Mobile has yet to announce more details of the G1’s tariffs or Pay As You Go pricing but expect it to be nice and competitive.
