The first handset to pack Google’s Android technology, the HTC Dream could be landing in mobile vendors this November.
According to rumours from several sources the feature packed phone will ship in time for the holiday rush. And with some top talents up its sleeves might just be on phone fans wishlist this Christmas.
The Telegraph say it should arrive in time for the holiday season, although the chief executive of O2 believes a 2009 launch is more realistic.
The open source Android platform will enable developers to develop their own range of apps for sale on the Android market. It’s sure to be a major challenger to the iPhone and Apple’s own App Store.
The HTC Dream, when it does arrive will equip some handy features like shortcut keys, QWERTY keyboard and a trackball for simple phone navigation. Its camera also goes one better than its nearest rival with a 3-megapixel autofocus snapper.
It might not have GPS bit will still be able to pull up Google Maps and make use of Google’s Street View Technology letting you get an eye-view level of your surroundings.
