Nokia has just ripped the covers off its latest handset and, as with so many mobiles these days, there’s a definite emphasis on style. The Crystal Prism 7900 is one of the most distinctive blowers we’ve seen, covered in crisply cut diamond edges and a backplate design that’s more modern art than mobile phone. Even the buttons haven’t escaped the concept: they’re gem-shaped and glow in one of 49 colours.
As names in fashion go, they don’t come much bigger than Prada, and the Italian design house has put its name to yet another LG handset. The newly-revealed model is a sleek silver smartphone packed with media and entertainment features, plus a touchscreen display that features a full on-screen keyboard.
Finally, Sony Ericsson has gone down the diamond route with its Z555 handset. Don’t worry, this clamshell doesn’t come packed with blinging, mugger-attracting rocks – the diamonds in this case are merely shapes etched on the glossy outer shell. And how’s this for effortless: you can even shut up the ringer with a wave of your hand – something that should appeal to fashion conscious diva types everywhere…
